Pepper chicken with Maple syrup

February 2nd, 2012 by Alexander Boros

Difficulty: Easy
I’m not sure if this is a Quebec specific dish but my friend Cedric brought it to my attention the other day. He said, instead of marinating the chicken in Lemon use real maple syrup and I did. Result was a chicken that was absolutely delicious! It tasted somewhat like sausage mixed with pancakes and maple syrup.

Ingredients
Real Maple syrup (not the fake shit)
Thin chicken strips
Flour
Butter of Olive oil for pan
Black Pepper

Directions
When working with chicken the first thing you need to do is wash the chicken under cold water. Next, if the chicken isn’t cut in thin strips of chicken then do so now. Next cover a plate in flour and roll the chicken in it. While you are at it, pour maple syrup on both sides and then place the chicken strip in a pan with either olive oil or butter. Add a bit more maple syrup in the pan if necessarily. While the chicken is cooking grind the pepper on top. The pepper adds a nice flavour and texture to the chicken that shouldn’t be missed. Rinse and repeat for each piece of chicken

This type of chicken goes well with everything or if you’re out of ideas then try with cut tomatoes on the side with Spanish rice. Hint: Saffron spice is key.
Enjoy
